Jack Herrer and Mazar - Best Medical Marijuana Strains

Jack Herer

WINNER: High Times Cannabis Cup, 1995 - Hybrid

This magnificent strain is better known as the "Champagne of Strains." Named in honor of the late cannabis decriminalization activist Jack Herer, this deliciously frosty strain is a hybrid of Skunk #1, Northern Lights #5, and Haze. We like to call it the "adventurous weed," the type of high were you feel like traveling. Since it's a sativa/indica and an incredibly happy high, you're more then likely to hit the road with some friends and just enjoy the scenery. Patients suffering from anxiety disorders and fibromyalgia report relief with this strain.

The flowering time is approximately 50–70 days and it usually reaches heights between 150-180cm.

Mazar

WINNER: High Times Cannabis Cup 1999 - Indica

This hippie strain originated from the area of Mazar-i-Sharif in Afghanistan. It's totally recommended for patients who are looking for a strong sedative and need muscle relaxation or help falling asleep. This euphoric strain originates from Afghan x Skunk #1 - Indica 80 / Sativa 20. Users claim to experience a psychedelic high and are prone to couch lock. It's not the best for going out on a set adventure or to any parties. Instead, expect to wind down and trip out to some great tunes. Grab a bag of Dorritos while your at it.

Long Beach Medical Marijuana Clinic

Okay, so I didn't get a chance to blog yesterday about our progress. We haven't heard anything yet of a developer interested in this project. I made the new logo listening to N.W.A's Express Yourself while Andy dropped by for a sessh. We finished up the free 1/8 of Jade Stacy received after opening a new account in Belmont Shores, Ca. If you buy a $40 of Sour Diesel, you get a free 1/8 of Jade. Sounds like a good deal to me! It's gone now. What do you think of the new scheme? The domain relaunch is still in progress. I haven't had the time to research my topics either. Where do I find time?

Operation Cannabis + Buzz: Project Starts

Phase one: Project starts. It deals with a website idea we had been working on about a year ago. Content and development has commenced. Buzz buzz..

***We are looking for a developer. Stacy fell and can't get up!!

So I should probably set out a structure for how I am going to categorize our site. Luckily I found my old notes. These ideas are priceless. Turning the pages, I remember laying on the bed at our Whittier house, hitting the bong to OD Northern Lights we bought at the 1 am clinic in Long Beach. That place was so shady. They bagged our over priced weed in a zip lock bag. Most dispensaries give you cool little plastic containers, even pill tubes. You know, the ones with the child proof cap you twist to the right with applied pressure. We were so eager to start this website project. As most might remember, we had the domain name set up. I should probably tell you why we stopped in the first place. To be honest, a few people fell off the boat. We had an editor in chief, marketer, blog writer and developer. We had friends in mind to draw our logo and help with site content. Things just never worked out. I guess we didn't stress enough how important this project was to us. Once we moved to Oregon, Stacy decided to put this project on the back burner. You'd think living in a cave for 8 months would motivate undisturbed work, but honestly it drew no inspiration. We couldn't talk to people about marijuana out there. There were no dispensaries. It was pointless.

Let's begin with..

CannaHow: Sneak a Toke

Congratulations!
Now what?

Realization #1:

When you first use a sneak a toke, you don’t know exactly how to use it because your too concentrated on how it works, how to hold it, and how to hit it.

Realization #2:

You have just learned how to use it half way through your hit. You still couldn't inhale a full hit because you just realized how to use it fully.

Realization #3:

Analyze: You can fully establish if it a good piece or not. You now know how to use it and how to smoke it and how to properly judge it.

CannaArt: Marijuana Art

Pothead Stories:You Know You're A Pothead When...

You know you're a pothead when you use the same lighter that burned your friends eye brows off the night before. After searching desperately for a low flame lighter, I came across a lighter that ignited an extremely high flame. The night before, my friend lit up a bowl and the flame ran up her face burning her eye brows off!!! I took my chances and held the flame a little farther from the bowl. I was good to go!

Marijuana Facts and Questions:

What is Marijuana?
It’s a funny thing you should ask!

The plant known as marijuana is one of the oldest psychoactive dugs known to humanity! It all dates back to about 6000 B.C when Cannabis seeds were used as food seasoning in China. The Chinese began to cultivate marijuana seeds for food and fiber weave. The blooms entailed a THC based flower known as Cannabis. The harvests spread like wildfire around the world! Throughout history, many different cultures turned to cannabis for spiritual enlightenment and pain reduction. With modern medicine in the very distant future, what else was our ancestors supposed to do?

I’ve heard of THC...

Marijuana contains the mind altering chemical known as THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol). Talk about supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! THC binds to specific receptors in the brain called Cannabinoids. These primarily effect the brain and immune system. When THC and Cannabinoids meet, time and space perception begin to alter. Cannabinoids were first discovered during the 1940s while the stricture of THC was first announced in 1964. THC is known for easing moderate pain and thus used in a variety of healing methods used around the world today.

So what does Marijuana look like?

Marijuana grows in a variety of blooms derived from the hemp plant. Each flower entails gorgeous signature colors and a multitude of aromatic scents. Believe it or not, but your marijuana should smell appetizing!

Marijuana Legalization in Washington

Sources say, "Washington is said to be one of four states where there are measures that have been introduced towards the legalization and regulation of marijuana. There are also around two dozen other states that are looking into marijuana-related legislation, from medical marijuana to not considering the possession of small amounts of marijuana as a crime.

According to Ethan Nadelmann, the Executive Director of the Drug Policy Alliance based in New York, this year is considered as “the most active” in as far as state legislatures regarding marijuana is concerned. The Drug Policy Alliance supports the reformation of marijuana laws.

Bills towards the legalization of marijuana were introduced early in 2009 in the states of California and Massachusetts. This month, bills were pre-filed in advance of legislative sessions to be held in January in the states of Washington and New Hampshire.

The marijuana legalization bill in Washington State is sponsored by Seattle Democrat Mary Lou Dickerson. Based on the details provided regarding the provisions of the bill, it will seem like marijuana will be treated in the same way as liquor currently is: marijuana may be sold in state-run liquor stores and consumers who will purchase it will pay a tax of 15% per gram, and have to be aged 21 years or older. The money that will be raised from the regulated selling of marijuana will be channeled into programs for substance abuse prevention and treatment. According to Rep. Dickerson, the bill can bring in as much as $300 million a year, roughly the same amount that is brought in by alcohol.

The Executive Director of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, Allen St Pierre, mentioned that tough economic times have driven lawmakers to take a closer look at the potential tax value that legalizing marijuana may bring."
